The divine law has therefore been the delight and study of every truly pious per son, in every age, and in every nation, where the sacred records have been disseminated and rendered generally accessible. The infallible certainty of the doctrines 'unfolded in the volumes of inspiration, the sublime morality which they inculcate, the revela tions which they present of redeeming grace, and the discoveries they afford of immortality and eternal life, endear them to the Christian, and give intensity to his meditations, and ardour to his devotions.
