Excerpt from The Teaching of Jesus: Concerning the Scriptures

A man named Jesus claims to be the incarnate Son of God. Whence has he come? From "the glory which he had with the Father before the world was." What is he doing here? He says that he has come into the world to teach the truth; "To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth" (John xviii. 37).

He finds a book in the hands of the people which is generally regarded as true and trustworthy every way.
