J 01111 bernard Tsorrsn was born in the year 1775. In the county of Down. His family were originally from Scotland, and descended from the Earl of Gowry, whose actions are recorded among the historical events of that country. They left their native land, and took refuge in the moutains of Monroe, in Ireland, where their de scendants, at this day, are among the respectable gentry of the country. The father of Mr. Trotter was a clergy man of the established church. He had three sons Sowthwel, who inherited the paternal estate, and was a member of parliament for Downp'atrick; J ohn Bernard.
