He served in the Revoloutionary War ... was an Indian fighter, and an outstanding pioneer. There are no records of his birth and death. We know he married an Irish girl, but do not know her name. ... It is thought that John Shrode and his two brothers, Jacob and Henry came to America in about 1761 or 1762"--Page 139. John settled in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania prior to 1789. The names of his parents are unknow. "It is family tradition that ... they were an aristocrat family and ruled over a feudal state in Germany in what is now called Alsace-Lorraine. Their feudal estate was located on the Rhine River."--Page 138. Descendants and relatives lived Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, California, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Nebraska, Montana, Arizona and elsewhere.
