power:

ANTHEM VIII.

Be thou my judge, O Lord, for I have walked innocently; my trust hath been also in the Lord, therefore shall I not fall. Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try out my reins and my heart.

For thy loving kindness is ever before mine eyes: and I will walk in thy truth. I will wash mine hands in innocency, O Lord; and so will I go to thine alter.

That I may shew the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.

ANTHEM IX.

Taken from 34th Psalm.

I WILL always give thanks unto the Lord: his praise shall ever be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad.

O praise the Lord with me: and let us magnify his name together.

ANTHEM X. FOR CHRISTMAS.

Taken from the 9th Chapter of Isaiah.

UNTO us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

Hallelujah.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and justice, from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this.
